I am pleased with our victory. It is always difficult to play against the Czech Republic. We used our chances at our best, however, the goalkeeper‘s and our defence scheme’s performance was not overwhelming.
This victory is important for us, because it gives us the chance to take part at the World Championships, if we win against Croatia. We have to believe in ourselves.
Jiri Kekrt (Czech coach) after the game:
We slept during the first part of the first half of the game. We only found our rhythm in the last part. The turning point was a tactical change in our defense scheme. In the second half we gained goal after goal, but in the decisive moments we made too many technical errors in our attacks. Perhaps we are too young to play at this level. We lack in concentration and experience. I am very disappointed because only against Spain we were able to play convincingly.
