Valdemaras Novickis (coach Lithuania)
The game showed the tiredness of the two teams; both of them spent lots of energy
during this tournament. There were many goals because the defences were weak.
I am pleased Lithuania managed to gain the ninth place. It is an important position
for us as it had been our aim since the beginning of the Championships. With
a bit of luck we could have managed to achieve seventh or eigth place, but because
of a goal against us in overtime we didnīt manage it. Never mind, we are pleased
even with this result.

I am not very happy with the first 40 minutes of the game. Our team greatly
feels the change of players occurred after the World Championships last year.
Since Kumamoto we have lost eight players. The new team is very young and therefore
inexperienced. One could particularly feel this in the most important moments
of the key matches. In particular, I would say that to perform well in the European
Championships it is vital to play well for the entire 60 minutes of the match
and we didn`t do it.
