Nearly 80.000 spectators at the European Championships
The European Handball Championships in Bolzano and Merano attracted a greater
number of spectators than expected. 80.000 people assisted at the manifestation
(79.550 to be exact). The average was of 2105 people per match. 52.750 spectators
were present at the twenty matches held in the Palaonda in Bolzano. The match
between Italy and Germany was the most successful with 5600. The record in the
Meranarena was reached in the match between Germany and France with 4300 people
(the hall was sold out).
