After having won a match like this it is very difficult to give a statement.
I am very happy. Finally the German handball team has managed to win the bronze
medal after years of abstinence. I am very pleased for my players and for the
spectators who supported us throughout the tournament. I am particularly pleased
for the German handball and hope this victory will help the sport in general.
Vladimir Maximov (Russia) It was a very difficult game for us, nevertheless
we played very well. We were unlucky that Torgovanov was injured and that our
big player Pogorelov got the red card. We didn`t manage to achieve all we had
set out to, but the Europeans were a good school for my players. I hope that
at the World Championships Russia will be able to play again with its best formation.
